University of Siegen

The University of Siegen is a young and modern teaching/research University located in the border triangle of Nordrhein-Westfalen, Hessen and Rheinland-Pfalz. Currently, about 18.000 students are enrolled, with over 1.500 scientific and administrative employees. In the beginning of 2011 the University of Siegen was restructured to promote its transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary character. Twelve departments were united in four theme-centred faculties.

The chair of Graphene-based Nanotechnology is part of the Faculty of Science and Engineering. In addition, there is a strong collaboration with the Center for Sensor Systems (ZESS), an interdisciplinary research unit located within the University.
